Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker assembles custom window frames from start to finish while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves using measurement tools, hand and power tools, and material handling equipment to produce and move finished windows throughout the facility. The position requires attention to detail, a strong quality mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble custom window frames from start to finish according to production specifications and quality standards.

  • Use a tape measure and other measurement tools to ensure all parts meet exact dimensional specifications.

  • Perform in-process and final quality checks on all completed windows prior to shipment preparation.

  • Operate table saws, trim saws, vertical and horizontal sanders, air nailers, and other hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

  • Utilize carts and material handling equipment to move windows weighing over 50 pounds throughout the facility.

  • Assist with general labor tasks in the production area as needed to support overall workflow and production goals.

  • Follow production instructions, blueprints, and work orders to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with team members to complete daily production requirements and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Be available and willing to work overtime and additional hours as needed to meet production demands.

Essential Skills

  • At least one year of previous manufacturing or production experience.

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

  • Ability to interpret and follow basic blueprints or production drawings.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools, including grinders and air nailers.

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and to bend or sit as required for specific tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent quality-focused mindset.

  • Willingness to work collaboratively with other team members to complete job duties.

  • Willingness to work overtime and some additional hours when required by production needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with general labor and production processes in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with finishing, grinding, and use of grinders in a production setting.

  • Comfort operating various material handling equipment to move large and heavy products.

  • Demonstrated reliability and commitment to meeting production schedules and quality expectations.

Work Environment

The role is based in a family-owned, team-oriented production environment focused on collaboration and mutual support. Work is performed in a manufacturing facility where a new, modern plant is in the process of being built, offering an evolving and improving workspace. The position involves working on the production floor with hand tools, power tools such as table and trim saws, vertical and horizontal sanders, air nailers, and material handling carts and equipment. Team members spend most of the shift on their feet, lifting and moving windows over 50 pounds, with some tasks performed in a seated position or requiring bending. The schedule follows standard production hours with the possibility of overtime and some extended hours based on business needs, and some roles may offer a four-day workweek depending on skills and assignment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mansfield, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
