Assembler – Generator Sets & Sub‑Assembly
Position Summary
This role is responsible for assembling generator sets and related sub‑assemblies across both standard and custom product lines. The position involves hands‑on mechanical and electrical assembly work using hand tools, power tools, and established quality procedures. Team members will work from drawings, work instructions, and schematics to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the build process.
Key Responsibilities
Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, and job travelers to complete assembly operations in designated work areas, including Final Assembly and Sub‑Assembly.
Assist across multiple assembly zones as needed and maintain flexibility to support production requirements.
Build and maintain a working knowledge of the products assembled, including ongoing learning as processes or designs evolve.
Identify obvious defects, damaged parts, incorrect dimensions, and workmanship issues during assembly.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, environmental procedures, and established company policies.
Provide suggestions and feedback on process improvements, quality enhancements, and workflow efficiencies.
Support a culture of compliance and uphold company code of conduct standards.
Participate in special projects or additional tasks as assigned.
Skills & Competencies
Mechanical and production assembly
Ability to interpret blueprints and basic mechanical drawings
Hands‑on experience using hand tools and power tools
Familiarity with wiring, routing, and basic electrical connections
Measuring using tape measures and basic inspection tools
General labor, mechanical aptitude, and assembly‑line experience
Experience working around generators or larger mechanical systems is beneficial
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of mechanical assembly experience with larger systems
Automotive technician/mechanic experience is acceptable in place of assembly experience
Must have previous experience reading blueprints and using power tools
Entry‑level candidates with the right mechanical background will be considered
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
