Job Description
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for applying policies, procedures, and practices consistently while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role provides support in areas such as talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll, worker’s compensation, onboarding, engagement, performance management, and other related activities and projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide guidance on the consistent application of policies and procedures.
Plan and coordinate general events and recognition activities.
Investigate and manage employee relations matters using an established disciplinary process.
Manage unemployment claims.
Support and implement change management activities.
Conduct full‑cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and making offers.
Facilitate and deliver onboarding programs and ensure completion of orientation processes.
Administer and maintain personnel policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations; recommend updates when needed.
Maintain personnel files and documentation.
Support performance management processes.
Serve as a liaison for leave of absence and disability requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
(Typically 4+ years of progressive HR experience for candidates without a degree.)
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
Minimum 4+ years of experience in Human Resources.
Experience with payroll and/or HRIS systems preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of legal requirements related to HR practices and regulatory compliance.
Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
Understanding of employment law and HR concepts.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
