Saint-Gobain Control Room Operator in Mankato, Minnesota
The Control Room Operator is responsible for overseeing the centralized control room, operating the press line, and ensuring continuous and smooth operations of press runs. In this position, one must be able to communicate effectively with other team members, supervisors, and external parties to ensure smooth, safe operations and efficient problem resolution.-
Job Responsibilities:
Continuously observe and analyze data from various systems and equipment to ensure they are operating within acceptable parameters using human-machine interfaces
Promptly respond to alarms, alerts, and emergency situations by taking appropriate actions to mitigate potential risks, maintain safety, and minimize downtime
Follow established control procedures to regulate and adjust equipment settings, parameters, and processes as needed to maintain optimal performance and compliance with operational requirements
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, safety standards, and company policies, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements where necessary
Respond to emergency situations such as fires or accidents
Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or failures
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment
Use a variety of hand tools and equipment while performing cleaning, maintenance, or assembly tasks
May operate material handling equipment
Perform all duties in accordance with safety standards and expectations
Strong understanding of Human Machine Interface (HMI) controls, computer software, and hardware
The ability to maintain accuracy and vigilance in monitoring systems and processes is critical
Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency in work
Able to read and write the English language
Able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential
Strong emphasis on quality, productivity, and safety
Ability to work extended shifts, approx. 12 hours/day
Industrial environment
May need to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, or dark environments, or in confined spaces
Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, or stoop, kneel, or crouch
Working with cleaning products and/or chemicals, using proper PPE-

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position, which is $25.00-$35.00 per hour. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 0-7% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.
