BEAMACO LLC 2nd Shift CNC Machinist in MANITOWOC, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: CNC MACHINIST Beamaco LLC 4230 Clipper Drive, Manitowoc, WI 54220 Job title: CNC Machinist Reports to: Shop Manager Department: Production; Machine Shop Summary: Under the supervision of the Shop Manager, the CNC machinist will be responsible for the set-up, adjustment, and operation of a variety of machinery, including horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, and grinders to manufacture machined parts requiring close tolerances. Responsibilities: 1. Read and interpret blueprint specifications, including GD&T to determine procedures and order of operations 2. Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools with limited supervision. 3. Ability to write new programs or edit existing programs using Fanuc, HAAS, and G-code is a plus. 4. Perform complex machine set-ups and critical operations, subject to review. 5. Operate various hand tools, power hand tools, and machine tools to make finish adjustments to parts. 6. Use and accurately read/interpret a variety of precision measuring devices to set up and adjust work and to verify conformance of work to drawing specifications. 7. Examine and feel surface of work piece for defects 8. Sharpen cutting tools as needed. 9. Troubleshoot operating, material, and tooling problems. 10. Perform general preventive maintenance work on tools and equipment. 11. Guide assisting personnel on correct procedures 12. Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for completed jobs. 13. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. 14. Understand and follow quality requirements and standards for each different customer. 15. Perform in-process checks to ensure quality conformance and avoid rework. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers. Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations. Program computers or electronic instruments, such as numerically controlled machine tools. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawing , or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly and that output will meet specifications. Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability. Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs. Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts. Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled.
