Amentum Laundry Supervisor in Manila, Philippines
Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Laundry Supervisor to support operations on the island of Diego Garcia.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily laundry operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services while maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and quality standards. The supervisor will manage a team of laundry personnel, enforce compliance with procedures, and ensure exceptional service for all customers. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervising and coordinating daily laundry services, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivery of garments and linens.
Monitoring performance, productivity, and quality standards for laundry staff to ensure operational goals are met.
Training and mentoring laundry employees in proper handling of equipment, safe use of chemicals, and compliance with workplace safety protocols.
Performing routine inspections of laundry equipment and facilities to ensure proper functionality, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards.
Coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacement of laundry equipment to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Managing inventory of laundry supplies such as detergents, chemicals, and linens, ensuring efficient stock control and timely replenishment.
Ensuring sorting, washing, and drying protocols meet proper sanitation and infection control standards, including compliance with applicable health and safety guidelines.
Maintaining complete, accurate records of laundry operations, including service volumes, equipment maintenance logs, chemical use, and personnel performance.
Communicating with managers, stakeholders, or facility representatives to address issues, prioritize workloads, and manage special laundry requests.
Troubleshooting operational issues, responding to complaints, and implementing corrective actions for continuous service improvement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of experience in laundry operations, including supervision or management of staff in an industrial or commercial laundry setting.
Strong knowledge of commercial laundry processes, equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to remain hands-on in operations as needed to train employees, perform inspections, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of workplace safety protocols related to laundry operations, including handling laundry chemicals and infection control measures.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads effectively under tight deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be in possession of a valid passport and must be able to travel internationally.
Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year at the time of hiring.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical training or certifications in laundry operations and equipment maintenance.
Experience in managing laundry services for government, military, or commercial facilities.
Familiarity with performance standards and compliance for industrial laundry facilities, including infection control best practices.
Strong organizational and communication skills for addressing service concerns and monitoring progress.
Experience working in remote OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) or austere environments.
