About the Role

As an Associate Account Director, you will take a leadership role in managing client accounts, connecting business objectives to strategic execution, and driving integrated campaigns. You will lead project components, influence teams, and act as a trusted advisor to mid-to-senior level clients, ensuring projects are delivered with impact, quality, and alignment to business goals.

This role combines strategic leadership, project ownership, and team mentorship, positioning you to grow into full account leadership while contributing to business growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

Strategic Focus & Impact

  • Leads key parts of projects, connecting business objectives to strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrates influence, inspires and motivates cross-functional teams.

  • Contributes to strategy execution, gradually building impact on client outcomes and agency results.

Client Relationship Management

  • Leads interactions with mid-to-senior level clients as a trusted advisor.

  • Provides strategic counsel and ensures client needs are met with confidence and professionalism.

  • Maintains strong relationships to drive client satisfaction and account growth.

Campaign & Data Management

  • Manage integrated campaigns across teams, ensuring alignment with client goals.

  • Proactively identifies risks and implements solutions to mitigate issues.

  • Oversee reporting, performance tracking, and delivery of actionable insights.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Manages Account Supervisors and Account Executives, shaping team culture and performance.

  • Leads small project teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for professional growth.

  • Fosters collaboration, accountability, and a high-performance environment.

Financial Oversight

  • Performs forecasting and contributes to profitability through accurate scoping and resource allocation.

  • Monitors budget utilization and ensure efficient use of resources across projects.

New Business Development

  • Identifies and develops growth opportunities within existing accounts.

  • Supports proposals, upselling initiatives, and client expansion strategies.

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge in own discipline and foundational understanding of related disciplines.

  • Applies expertise to improve campaign outcomes and internal processes.

Soft Skills

  • Inspires and influences cross-functional teams through confident, strategic communication.

  • Leads with empathy and supports team development and growth.

Market & Industry Expertise

  • Leads strategy and creative solutions using deep market understanding.

  • Advises clients and teams on market trends, competitive insights, and best practices.

  • Guides clients and teams on dashboards, tools, and data-driven insights.

  • Leverages technology to improve reporting, campaign tracking, and decision-making.

Agency Role & Influence

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6–8 years of experience in account management, advertising, or related fields.

  • Proven ability to manage clients at mid-to-senior levels and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Strong strategic, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience in financial oversight, campaign execution, and business development.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
