Amentum Air Cargo / Freight Supervisor in Manila, Philippines
Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Air Cargo / Freight Supervisor to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
The Air Cargo / Freight Supervisor oversees daily air cargo and freight operations in accordance with U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, and aviation logistics standards. Responsibilities include supervising cargo handling activities, coordinating aircraft loading and unloading operations, and ensuring all freight movements comply with safety, security, and documentation requirements.
The supervisor provides leadership and direction to air cargo personnel, assigns daily tasks, monitors workflow, and ensures efficient use of manpower and equipment. This role includes reviewing cargo manifests, verifying shipping documentation, and ensuring proper handling of priority, hazardous, oversized, or classified cargo in accordance with established procedures.
Additional duties include enforcing safety and operational standards, conducting on‑the‑job training, supporting inspections and audits, and coordinating with aircrew, logistics teams, and transportation partners. The Air Cargo / Freight Supervisor maintains operational readiness, resolves issues impacting cargo flow, and supports mission‑critical airlift operations in a remote, high‑tempo environment.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in air cargo, freight operations, logistics, or transportation support
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge of air cargo procedures, freight documentation, and aviation safety standards
Experience leading or supervising personnel in an operational environment
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, equipment operation, and working in outdoor conditions
Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally
Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience in military, DoD, or commercial air cargo operations
Experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce
Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and airlift regulations
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, time management and customer service skills.
Valid country driver’s license.
Ability to obtain country‑specific visa(s) in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide
