Robert Half Associate Product & Material Developer in Manhattan Beach, California

Description We are looking for an Associate Product & Material Developer to join our team in Manhattan Beach, California. This contract position is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating high-quality apparel components and fostering strong relationships with vendors. The role will require expertise in textile and trim development, a deep understanding of the product creation process, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional products.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage apparel materials and trims, ensuring they meet quality and design standards.

• Collaborate with vendors to test and refine materials from initial concept to production.

• Partner with the Asia product development team to oversee approvals for materials, trims, and colors related to styles developed in the region.

• Act as the primary point of communication with Western Hemisphere factories to ensure timely development and production.

• Track and manage testing requests, ensuring all materials meet industry standards.

• Participate in meetings focused on commercialization and project updates.

• Maintain accurate data in the product life management system, ensuring all information is up-to-date.

• Support special projects and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for apparel collections.

• Coordinate across teams to manage multiple projects and meet seasonal deadlines.

• Ensure all tasks are executed with strong attention to detail and adherence to timelines. Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the apparel industry, specifically in material, color, or trim development.

• Proficiency in technical material knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques.

• Strong understanding of trim development processes and applications.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and product life management systems.
