Insight Global QMS Lead Auditor in Manchester, Tennessee
Job Description
The QMS Lead Auditor is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the site’s Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer‑specific requirements. This role serves as the primary quality systems authority at the facility and plays a key role in internal, customer, third‑party, and corporate audits. The successful candidate will provide guidance to leadership, ensure audit readiness, and drive corrective actions to maintain system integrity.
o Maintains the written procedures, work instructions and forms of the Quality Management System as assigned.
o Create an internal audit schedule and perform internal audits per corporate directive.
o Presents the systems status report monthly to Corporate.
o Ensures the written audit reports and updated internal audit schedule is approved by the Manager of QMS.
o Oversees the issuance of corrective actions and follows up countermeasure implementation.
o Conduct follow up special audits per Customer specifics requirement updates and submit report to Corporate
o Advise and assist the upper management with any concerns about the QMS.
o Evaluates the application of the Standards within the procedures, work instructions and policies.
o Key participant in all customer and third-party audits at the assigned facility.
o Key participant in local Management review representing Corporate.
o Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

Skills and Requirements
Automotive manufacturing quality experience
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA requirements (German OEM standards experience preferred within this)
IATF Lead Auditor certification from an external/accredited body
Proven ability to build, lead, and conduct audits independently
Experience preparing for and supporting external and regulatory audits
Ability to manage corrective actions, responses, verification, and follow‑up
Experience maintaining and updating quality system documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong communication and people skills, including working with translators when needed
Comfortable working independently while coordinating with a small, multi‑site team
Ability to be onsite most of the time with flexibility for audit schedules and limited travel Experience with German OEMs or VDA‑focused customer environments
Honda or Toyota supplier experience
Prior experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations
Experience preparing plants for DMV or similar regulatory audits
Familiarity working closely with plant leadership during audits
