Amazon Services Support Tech (CDL) - Night Shift in Manassas, Virginia

As a Support Engineer II (CDL) for AWS, you will transport equipment, provide support, and be required to drive different types of trucks and haul heavy equipment to our facilities. Support Engineer II (CDL) drivers will support elements of related Safety, Compliance, and Maintenance programs.

Candidate must be at least 21 years old. This position requires a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) and have no Automatic Transmissions Restrictions, a Hazmat Endorsement is preferred and is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with the Fleet Coordinator and management to facilitate, and transport needed equipment to our facilities.

  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on the completion of equipment relocation, compliance, safety, and maintenance duties.

  • Create and communicate driver and equipment safety concerns.

  • Complete pre and post transport inspections, documentation.

  • Willing to work all shifts including nights.

  • Support equipment standard work, including inspecting equipment, creating repair requests, monitoring repair execution, ensuring on-time preventive maintenance, managing campaigns and recalls, and maintaining unit history (e.g., for washes, warranties, registrations)

  • Work at locations within node on an as needed basis to support the business

  • Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck as scheduled using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.), with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Lift up to 40 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Complete forklift certification

  • Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and to promote safe working across the site.

  • Remain cognizant of and act in compliance with all security protocols.

  • Interact with engineers, technicians, and management on a daily basis.

  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization.

  • Mentor others by motivating and providing guidance and direction to help them achieve their goals.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage resources under high pressure.

  • Provide support for LSE, weather events, planned, and unplanned outages.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

  • Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working

  • Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects

  • Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain

  • Can work at heights and from ladders

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of data center engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling

  • Experience in data center engineering

  • Can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
