We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of containerization across large Naval Submarine subsystems. This technology integrates various combat subsystems, such as sonar, radar, and weapons control, into a single, cohesive combat system for U.S. Navy submarines. It functions as a 'system of systems' that manages all technical products integrated into submarine combat systems, enabling them to work together and facilitating software updates and life-cycle support.
Responsibilities
Perform software integration and ensure seamless operation with a Linux system and a private cloud.
Engage in testing, debugging code, and working with containers and orchestrators.
Design, develop, and deploy containers using Kubernetes in a Linux OS environment, optimizing system performance, security, and scalability.
Develop Kubernetes rulesets for scheduling and implement interprocess communication within containers.
Optimize GPU performance within the container environment.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in C++ or Java.
Experience in developing real-time or embedded systems.
3+ years of development, integration, and troubleshooting experience with the Linux/Unix Operating System.
Experience with designing and building containers with Kubernetes for efficient deployment and management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with GPU optimization within containers.
Proficiency with RKE2 and KubeVIP.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Proficiency with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
Understanding of interprocess communication within containers and pod networking.
Proficiency with Kubernetes rulesets for scheduling and designing containers to be highly available.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
