Position Title: Systems Specialist Position OverviewA SQL Systems Specialist manages, monitors, and optimizes relational database systems (primarily SQL Server) to ensure data integrity, high availability, and security. They develop complex queries, maintain database performance, perform backups/restoration, and support development teams with data modeling and ETL processes. They will also work with SSRS, SSIS and Power BI daily to assist users with report requests.*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *
- Convert business needs into needed specifications and coordinate with team members for customizations
- Address user requests, resolve issues, and liaise with internal teams
- Adherent to change management procedures
- Performance Tuning: Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes
- Maintenance & Backup: Implementing backup/recovery strategies, managing database integrity checks, and handling SQL Agent jobs
- Development Support: Collaborating with teams to design database schemas, develop ETL processes, and build SSIS packages/SSRS reports
- Data Integrity & Security: Ensuring compliance with security standards (e.g., STIGs, HIPAA) and performing data migration/integration
- Create, manage and update Power BI dashboards
Implementation & Continuous Improvement
- Track system adoption and KPIs to drive improvements.
- Recommend enhancements based on data and feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Management
- Act as an effective link between business teams and IT or development resources.
- Lead workshops, training programs, and meetings that involve multiple departments.
- Assist in managing change initiatives to increase user acceptance of new processes, tools, and solutions, thereby enhancing system usage.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, or a related field
- Five years of relevant professional information system experience

- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical team members in-person and remote environments
- A user-focused perspective combined with strong business orientation
- Capable of working independently within a dynamic, multi-entity environment
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required across North American time zones and a willingness to work additional hours as necessary
- Consume, analyze, and manage data using Python, SQL, and other programming languages
- Conduct basic business analyses such as exploratory data analysis and reporting.
- Transform results into digestible visualizations
- Familiarity with SSRS as well as Report Builder
Knowledge of T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSIS, SSRS, and/or SSAS

Working ConditionsThis position works in the home office or corporate office. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. Primary Location and TravelWe anticipate that on an ongoing basis this role will be based in the Corporate Office with the ability to work from home one day a week after initial training is completed.
