We are searching for the best talent for a Sr Supervisor Maintenance and Calibration to join our team.

Summary:

This position is part of the Maintenance, Site Engineering team, which is the asset-management team consisting of Automation, Engineering, and Maintenance for clinical labs, GxP warehouse operations, cell banking, and other GxP labs in Malvern and Springhouse, PA.

Sr Supervisor Maintenance and Calibration is responsible for maintaining the reliability of manufacturing assets and utilities through preventive, corrective and calibration workorders, and parts storeroom management. Supervise daily maintenance activities of technicians and contractors in clinical manufacturing, labs, utilities and facilities. Ensure safe work and high levels of schedule attainment and resource utilization. Participate in planning and scheduling of work. Maximize engagement and performance of your team through effective leadership, communications and administration of the Performance and Development Process. Ensure that all work is completed safely and cost-effectively and in compliance with Company Policies, EHS guidelines and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance:

  • Supervise daily work of technicians and contractors in execution of the planned and unplanned work orders. Provide on-the-floor leadership and involvement. Own the maintenance calibration program. Collaborate with Maintenance Planners and Area Owners to ensure the efficient execution of assigned work to minimize downtime and maintenance costs. Review planned schedule for weekly schedule compliance and improvement. Investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment, instruments and systems failures. Identify and implement improvement opportunities that will improve reliability, uptime, spare parts consumption, and compliance risks. Monitor daily work of the team through the CMMS. Set goals and objectives, coach, mentor, own performance reviews and development of technicians on the team. Ensure that technicians have adequate training to perform required functions, are current with industry standards, and developing their skills. Own the training program.

Projects:

  • Support project teams as assigned, as the asset owner and SME of maintenance systems, including development of the SAP Master Data and Stocking Strategy. Ensure projects and tasks stay on target through resourcing and removing obstacles, which may involve communication at a senior level within the business.

  • Interact with all stakeholders (project team, OEMs, maintenance technicians, automation engineers, lab operations, QA, QC) to identify new master data, changes to existing master data and master data based improvements.

  • Work with multifunctional teams of OEM vendors and service providers, operations, maintenance, engineering, quality and validation.

Equipment:

  • Assets include mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and lab equipment, including robots, calibrated devices, cryo systems, vial fillers, freezers, incubators, hoods, bio safety cabinets, isolators, camera systems, tube sealers and welders, analytical lab equipment, autoclaves, washers, centrifuge (this is not all-inclusive)

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree, Vocational, Certificate, Technical, and/or equivalent degree required.

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in engineering, practical science or related technical field is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience as an instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical maintenance technician or QC lab scientist.

  • Demonstrated expertise in calibration, including experience as a Calibration Technician, ownership of a maintenance calibration program, or oversight of calibration activities within a QC laboratory.

  • Hands-on experience as a mechanical, instrumentation, or electrical maintenance technician.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing and laboratory operations.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, and equipment procedure manuals.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and laboratory equipment, including PLC control systems and HMIs.

  • Strong influencing, collaboration, and partnering skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.

  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical presentations and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience leading maintenance and/or laboratory teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance best practices (SAP preferred).

  • Experience developing maintenance plans, SOPs, spare parts strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Solid understanding of Maintenance and Reliability Best Practices.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.

Other:

  • Requires up to 10% domestic travel.
