We are searching for the best talent for an Associate Director, Transcend R&D BPO Lead role in Beerse, Belgium or U.S. (Malvern, PA or Horsham, PA).
Purpose:
Innovative Medicine Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize our foundational Supply chain processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform (SAP S4 Hana) for growth and efficiency gains.
The program will simplify the Pharm ERP landscape from 7 to 1, standardizing processes to have a cost effective, fit for purpose digital backbone that will enable us to support the Pharm business with agility.
R&D is an integral part of the IM Transcend program, in order to transform and standardize relevant R&D supply chain processes, to include them within the global IM Transcend Template.
The Transcend R&D program team is currently looking for an Associate Director, Transcend R&D Business Process Owner . As the BPO lead you translate business strategies into a capability roadmap, aligned to Transcend outcomes and design decisions on Transcend and the digital ecosystem. You partner with Transcend Business Program Owners and Global Template Owners on translating capabilities to the SAP template and driving harmonization and standardization.
Together with R&D key stakeholders, you identify business value to prioritize roadmap decisions and drive value realization. You get ahead of the change curve with the business function and ensure alignment to the global template, clean core principles, and regulatory expectations.
Reporting to the Transcend R&D Program Director, this position provides strategic direction on key R&D business processes in advance of and during the Transcend program roll out. You lead a team of 5 BPO’s specialized in key R&D business processes relevant for the scope of Transcend.
You will be responsible for:
Strategic partnering with R&D leadership (global /site) to define the end-to-end process vision and secure decisions on standardization versus local requirements
With deep functional expertise, developing the functional capability vision in alignment with evolving patient and marketplace needs and in support of global function needs
Engaging with the business for strategic alignment and readiness for the Transcend global template
Ensuring mandatory R&D requirements are included in the Transcend capability roadmap
Driving early discussion within the function on alignment to standard global processes
Getting ahead of release planning to ensure business readiness to prepare for what is coming and/or to propose short-term quick wins
Partnering with the Global Template Owner to ensure alignment of the global template to business needs, in alignment with clean core principles
Driving cross-functional convergence across Innovative Medicine Supply Chain and R&D TDS, and prioritization across functions for what the future process must become and why it creates value (identification and realization)
Leading R&D global process governance and decision forums; partnering with R&D sites and in-scope functions on strategy and standardization
Driving continuous improvement post go-live
Key Deliverables:
R&D Transcend capability roadmap (current/future), including prioritization rationale and alignment to the global template
End-to-end process vision, design principles, and documented decisions on standardization vs. local requirements
Process governance cadence and decision forums (agenda, materials, decision log, and follow-up actions)
Value realization plan (value hypotheses, KPIs/measurement approach)
Post go-live continuous improvement backlog, prioritization, and delivery plan
Approximate Percentage of Time & Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
40% Business strategy and capability roadmaps
30% Global process ownership and governance
15% Value realization identification and planning
10% Continuous process improvements

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree required in Business or Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
10+ years R&D or supply chain leadership experience (experience in study management, logistics, planning or manufacturing or with rolling out global template program)
Proven results in global BPO or transformational leadership
Experienced in business value realization and measurement
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions in complex, ambiguous, global matrix environments.
Experienced in defining business roadmap based on template capabilities offered (current and future)
Experience with the requirements of working in a GxP/SOX environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable data outcomes.
Strong influencing skills
SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain experience (logistics, manufacturing, quality management, planning, procurement)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with change management for complex programs
Experience with process design methodologies
Travel up to 15%
