Manulife Head of Studies and Reinsurance in Makati City, Philippines
Responsibilities:
Actuarial Studies and Experience Monitoring
Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of experience studies (e.g., mortality, morbidity, lapse, expense)
Collaborate with pricing, valuation, and regional teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and methodologies
Develop dashboards and reporting tools for regular experience monitoring
Monitor emerging trends, analyze IFRS17 drivers of earnings and work with inforce management team to develop initiatives to realign actual experience with expectations
Communicate findings and impacts to senior management and stakeholders
Reinsurance Negotiations
Lead reinsurance strategy development, including treaty structuring, pricing analysis, and partner selection
Manage relationships with reinsurers and coordinate negotiation processes
Review and update existing treaties to maximize value and ensure partnership with trustworthy reinsurers
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements

Experiences and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
At least 10 years of actuarial work experience with minimum 3 years in a leadership role
Fellow or near fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines or Society of Actuaries is preferred
Proficient in MS Office (including Power BI) and GGY AXIS is preferred
