Job description

Our Kitchen Assistants work in a fast-paced environment preparing and serving nutritious meals to students to support student learning. The Food Service department works school days only - no nights, weekends, or holidays! This position works 7 hours per day (6:45am-1:45pm)\

Responsibilities
  • The Food Service department works school days only - no nights, weekends, or holidays!
  • This position works 7 hours per day (6:45am-1:45pm)
  • Prepare healthy and appealing food
  • Utilize sound sanitation standards to meet district, state, and federal guidelines
  • Serve food so that students and staff receive their food in a timely and friendly manner
  • Assist in tasks necessary for efficient functioning of the food service program (washing dishes, scanning tickets, cleaning, organizing)
  • Track inventory and communicate with the manager
  • Monitor temperatures of foods, dishwasher, etc ensuring HACCP compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the food service program
  • Perform deep cleaning/defrosting tasks
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality as required by the Board of Education policies and regulations
  • Can be noisy and crowded
