Cognizant Data Manager in Madrid II, Spain
Cognizant DATA & AI is seeking an experienced and strategic Data Manager to lead our data initiatives, oversee our cloud data infrastructure, and manage cross-functional data projects. In this role, you will be the bridge between technical execution and business strategy. You will own the end-to-end delivery of data solutions utilizing Snowflake, AWS, and Azure , while applying strong Project Management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Cloud Architecture
Platform Management: Oversee and optimize our enterprise data warehouse environment utilizing Snowflake/Databricks across multi-cloud infrastructure ( AWS and Azure ).
Data Governance & Security: Establish and enforce data governance, quality standards, and security protocols across all cloud platforms to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Project & Team Management
Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to keep the data team aligned and productive.
Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical data concepts into actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of experience in data management, data engineering, or a closely related technical field, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or project management role.
Project Management: Strong background in managing technical projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Monday.com).
Languages: Proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of Python or other scripting languages used in data engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Certification (PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified ScrumMaster).
