The Position
As an intern, you will contribute to a project focused on enabling decarbonisation by supporting the adoption of a Roche Carbon Shadow Price and strengthening communication and engagement for Scope 3 reduction. The project aims to help translate sustainability strategy into practical business decisions by supporting targeted use cases, creating implementation materials, and increasing visibility of decarbonisation initiatives across the organization. Within your first 3 months, you are expected to support business case assessments for decarbonisation projects, analyze project portfolios against the proposed Carbon Shadow Price, contribute to implementation playbooks, and create communication materials that support the Scope 3 Centre of Excellence’s 2026 engagement strategy. Your work will help drive more consistent consideration of carbon impacts in decision-making while encouraging broader employee engagement with Roche’s decarbonisation goals. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to work on concrete climate action in a global organization and help turn strategy into measurable impact.
The Opportunity
Support the pilot of a Carbon Shadow Price concept, including business case assessments for decarbonisation projects
Analyze existing project portfolios against the proposed Carbon Shadow Price and identify key insights and opportunities
Assist in creating playbooks and engagement materials for implementing the Carbon Shadow Price in targeted use cases
Create bite-size communication content on topics such as decarbonisation projects, corporate targets, business travel, or Carbon Shadow Price
Support the implementation of the Scope 3 Centre of Excellence communication and engagement strategy for 2026
Help increase the visibility of Scope 3 decarbonisation activities and communicate project progress across relevant teams
Work as an embedded member of the Centre of Excellence and collaborate with decarbonisation leads across Pharma and Diagnostics
Contribute to engagement activities that encourage employees to connect with the Centre of Excellence and log decarbonisation initiatives
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your studies at a university, preferably in the field of Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Scientific Communication, Business, Economics, Sustainability, Chemistry, or Biochemistry within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 6 months.
Furthermore you are
Analytical and comfortable supporting sustainability business case assessments
Interested in content creation and able to develop communication materials such as slides, website content, or short videos using digital and AI-enabled tools
Financially and/or scientifically literate, with the ability to understand decarbonisation topics in a business context
A collaborative and autonomous team player who can work across functions and engage a range of stakeholders
Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
