We partner with the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine to train future veterinarians, promote interdisciplinary relationships, and offer subsidized veterinary and support services to low income or homeless individuals. You would be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) responsible for: Overseeing high-quality animal care Participate in instruction of veterinary students and training veterinary technicians. Monitor and assist veterinary student participation with receiving daily schedules. Perform a variety of technical tasks including: Patient intake History taking/brief PE Blood draws Vaccine administration Dental cleanings and radiographs Anesthesia and surgical assisting Dispensing medication (writing and filling prescriptions) Laboratory tasks Client communication Keeping treatment areas clean For more information, visit https://wiscares.wisc.edu/Key Job Responsibilities: Documents and disseminates results to the appropriate entities Monitors animal health status and records, provides nursing care, notifies veterinarian when status changes, and records in the medical record Completes appropriate laboratory tests and collects specimens according to established medical orders and care plans Tracks supply inventory levels and places replenishment orders Develops recordkeeping processes, maintains organization of and updates records related to medical procedures and billing Essential Responsibilities: - 30% Prepares, completes, and documents basic technical animal care procedures, assessments, and medication administration according to established care plans and medical necessity - 10% Assists with the execution of more complex animal care procedures and affiliated activities - 10% Maintains organization of and updates records related to medical procedures and...
