What’s a typical day as a Site Safety Manager III You will:

  1. Serve as On-Site Safety Lead: Provide active safety leadership and a visible field presence during all outage activities.

  2. Oversee Contractors’ Compliance: Ensure all contractors adhere to site safety plans, procedures, and permit requirements (LOTO, confined space, hot work, etc.).

  3. Conduct Safety Audits & Inspections: Perform daily field observations, safety audits, and work area inspections to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

  4. Facilitate Safety Meetings: Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings to reinforce safe work practices.

  5. Support Incident Investigation: Lead or support investigations of incidents, near-misses, and good-catches, ensuring corrective actions and lessons learned are implemented.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • Minimum 5 Years’ Industrial/Construction Safety Experience: Relevant to power generation outages or similar large industrial projects.

  • Experience in Coal-Fired Generation Facilities or Heavy Industry: Proven track record in comparable environments.

  • Expertise in OSHA Regulations: Strong working knowledge and practical application in the field.

  • Hands-On Permit System Experience: LOTO, confined space, hot work.

  • Communication & Leadership Skills: Able to engage effectively with all levels of the workforce, from craft workers to plant leadership.

  • Ability to Work Extended Hours: Adaptable to outage schedules and high-tempo conditions.
