Position Purpose
Serves as a senior technical expert and strategic leader in renewable energy systems, providing engineering design, operational oversight, and forward-looking guidance across the Company’s renewable and distributed energy portfolio. Leads complex capital projects, advances innovation, and ensures reliable, cost-effective, and scalable renewable solutions aligned with corporate clean energy and net-zero objectives.
Core Responsibilities

Lead the engineering design, development, and execution of large-scale renewable generation, energy storage, and distributed energy resource (DER) projects.
Provide technical oversight and lifecycle support (design, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance) for the Company’s renewable generation assets.
Serve as a subject matter expert on renewable technologies, grid integration, and system performance optimization.
Guide long-term renewable strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability and net-zero goals.
Lead evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies (e.g., advanced storage, hydrogen, grid-edge controls).
Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for renewable systems.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (planning, operations, regulatory, and finance) to support capital planning and system reliability.
Provide technical input and support for regulatory filings, industry initiatives, and external partnerships.
Mentor and develop engineering staff; provide technical coaching and knowledge transfer across the organization.
Support vendor selection, equipment specification, and contract evaluation for renewable projects.

Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline required
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Experience
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in renewable energy, utility engineering, or related field
Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering projects and influencing strategic direction
Experience with utility-scale renewable systems and grid integration strongly preferred
Work Location
- This hybrid role is based at our Madison, WI headquarters. While three days onsite is the minimum, team collaboration and business needs may require additional in-office presence.
