As a Senior Associate, you will partner with clients to solve complex financial accounting and reporting challenges at the intersection of accounting, technology, and transformation. Our team blends deep technical accounting expertise with a strong understanding of data, automation, and modern finance systems to help organizations move faster, operate smarter, and scale with confidence.
This is a unique opportunity to work across a wide range of engagements, including M&A and transaction support, capital markets transactions, IPO readiness, financial and regulatory reporting, sustainability reporting, technical accounting, and more, while also helping clients rethink and modernize how accounting and reporting get done. You will leverage technology-enabled tools, data-driven insights, and process automation to streamline analyses, improve accuracy, and enhance decision-making.
You will serve clients ranging from global industry leaders to high-growth startups across multiple industries, working closely with management teams to deliver practical, forward-looking solutions. In a highly collaborative environment, you’ll combine traditional accounting advisory skills with an understanding of data transformation, scalable processes, and emerging finance technologies, positioning clients, and your own career, for long-term success.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Research, analyze, and resolve complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters, leveraging technology-enabled tools and approaches to develop well-supported conclusions
Partner with clients to understand business processes, systems, and data flows to assess accounting impacts and reporting implications
Analyze, reconcile, and validate large data sets, using advanced Excel, automation techniques, and emerging analytics tools to increase efficiency and accuracy
Draft clear, concise technical accounting memoranda that document issues, reference applicable U.S. GAAP, SEC guidance, etc. and articulate conclusions in a client-ready format
Provide pre- and post-transaction accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, debt offerings, and other capital markets activities, with a focus on scalability and repeatability of processes
Support the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1), helping clients modernize reporting workflows where possible
Assist clients in audit readiness by improving documentation, streamlining support, and enhancing collaboration between finance, operations, and auditors
Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and better use of data across accounting and reporting activities
Manage project tasks and timelines, ensuring high-quality delivery while balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic consulting environment
Collaborate closely with project and service line leaders to deliver integrated solutions that blend traditional accounting advisory with transformation-oriented thinking
Participate in training and development programs to deepen technical accounting knowledge while expanding skills in technology, data, and modern finance practices
Bring innovative ideas, technical insights, and a growth mindset to business development efforts and internal initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or related field
3–5 years of relevant experience in professional services, public accounting, or corporate accounting, ideally with exposure to complex transactions and reporting environments
Active CPA license (preferred) or progress toward certification
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Experience with acquisition accounting, divestitures, transaction readiness, and similar technical accounting topics
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large, complex data sets; experience with automation, reporting tools, or analytics platforms is a plus
Ability to translate technical accounting guidance into practical, business-oriented recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting directly with clients and senior stakeholders
Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines
Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous learning, including emerging trends in finance transformation and accounting technology
Flexibility to work cross-functionally and quickly integrate into new project teams while building trusted client relationships

Base Range: $90,000 - $130,000
This position includes additional variable compensation in the form of commissions on a monthly basis.
W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans, some with an Employer HSA contribution), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits, basic life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and PTO consisting of 10 holidays, 5 sick days (or more if required by law in the state/locality where you work), 15 days of vacation (based on tenure), bereavement leave, and 6-8 weeks paid maternity/disability leave and 2-4 weeks paid parental leave (based on tenure)
