This role includes providing user training and technical support for NFC instrumentation, which may include lithography, dry etch, deposition, wet chemistry, packaging or thermal processing, depending on the experience and interest of the successful candidate. In addition, the role will include ensuring optimal instrument performance through routine maintenance and calibration, instrument repair, and the development of best practices and training materials.Key Job Responsibilities: Designs, plans, and performs preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal and safe operation Answers questions and provides technical information regarding instrumentation to staff, researchers, clients, and students Facilitates the billing process Investigates new research processes and technology solutions in collaboration with research/clinical staff, students, and clients Supports troubleshooting efforts to define and resolve problems Develops, integrates, tests, modifies, and may design sophisticated scientific equipment to support research/clinical initiatives and unit directives Make the center a safe environment for everyone. Monitor researchers for safe practices and enforce safety policies. Monitor the facility for unsafe conditions and rectify them Provides technical expertise to staff, researchers, clients, and students in the installation and use of equipment and instruments, exercising discretion and independent judgment to meet unit goals Maintain and support the operations of the CenterDepartment: College of Engineering, Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology, Nanoscale Fabrication CenterCompensation: The starting salary is \$80,000 annually, and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
