Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI programs for production and utility systems in a regulated environment. Adherence to documentation practices within compliance under FDA 21 CFR Part 11 is essential. The role involves working with Rockwell Automation platforms including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, and FactoryTalk applications. This position focuses on daily troubleshooting and sustaining systems rather than developing new programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain PLC and HMI programs for production and utility systems.

  • Troubleshoot existing automation systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Adhere to FDA 21 CFR Part 11 documentation practices.

  • Work with Rockwell Automation platforms such as ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, and FactoryTalk.

  • Support the integration of new automated equipment into existing systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in automation and PLC programming.

  • Experience with troubleshooting PLCs and HMI programs.

  • Familiarity with controls engineering and HMI programming.

  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and Rockwell Automation systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with troubleshooting PLCs and HMI programs.

  • 3+ years of experience in a regulated environment with documentation practices.

Work Environment

This is a first shift, Monday-Friday position, typically from 8 AM to 4 PM, though hours may vary slightly. The work involves supporting a world leader in biosourced pharmaceuticals, focusing on active pharmaceutical ingredients like Pancreatin and Heparin. The facility is located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin, in Waunakee. The team is growing and committed to keeping the facility running while integrating new automated equipment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

full health dental and medical benefits 160 days of pto on full calendar year
