Organization: 5 Door Recovery

Location: Madison, WI (On-site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexibility available)

Hours: 40 hours/week

Status: Temp-to-Perm or Direct Hire

Reports To: Program Director

About the Role

5 Door Recovery is seeking an experienced and collaborative Clinical Supervisor to oversee clinical operations within its residential addiction-recovery program. This role provides leadership across clinical services, supervision, training, and quality assurance while maintaining a hands-on, client-centered approach to care.

The Clinical Supervisor ensures high standards of care, regulatory compliance, and professional development of staff while partnering closely with leadership to support a positive, team-focused culture. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with a clear path to permanent placement.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Management

  • Ensure the quality of clinical services through individual and group supervision of all clinical staff, including direct observation of clinical skills

  • Document supervision activities in compliance with State of Wisconsin requirements

  • Complete annual performance reviews for staff under direct supervision and establish professional development goals

  • Ensure all clinical records are accurate, current, and compliant with state, federal, and funding-agency standards

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality-improvement initiatives

  • Evaluate, approve, supervise, and support clinical interns and trainees

  • Orient and train new clinical staff

  • Develop and revise program policies and procedures to meet evolving participant needs and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in internal and external committees and management-team meetings

Professional Operations

  • Conduct regular chart reviews and monitor electronic health record (EHR) entries for accuracy and completeness

  • Ensure all client records meet federal, state, and funding-agency compliance standards

Clinical Services

  • Review admissions for appropriateness, level of care, and assignment to a counselor-of-record

  • Review and approve client discharges and aftercare plans

  • Maintain a small caseload, providing individual and family counseling as needed

  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and educational lectures when required

  • Provide back-up clinical coverage when assigned staff are unavailable

  • Develop and update treatment protocols based on best clinical practices

  • Review and evaluate therapeutic and psychoeducational materials used in treatment

Consultation and Education

  • Provide consultation to internal and external partners on clinical and administrative matters as requested

  • Offer education and training to clients’ families, community partners, and the public as needed

  • Lead and support in-service training to ensure staff meet licensure standards and clinical needs

Program Environment

  • Residential addiction-recovery program offering 3.5 level of care

  • Emphasis on trauma-informed, person-centered treatment

  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and administrative support

  • EMR system experience preferred (MedShare used)

  • Initial 60–90 days on-site to fully integrate into program operations, culture, and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, professional counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution

  • Active Wisconsin license as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT

  • Active SAC or CSAC certification (SAC-IT considered if compliant with program requirements)

  • 3–5 years of experience in clinical supervision

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with staff, partners, and stakeholders

  • Proactive problem-solving and strong decision-making abilities

  • High professional discretion and experience handling confidential information

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and web-based platforms

  • Familiarity with electronic health records strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $73,000 – $100,000 (flexible based on experience)

  • $7,500 sign-on bonus, paid at 30 days and 6 months

  • Temp-to-perm or direct hire options available

  • On-call rotation every 4th–5th weekend

  • Paid $75 per weekend (phone-based support only)
