Allied Universal® Electronic Monitoring, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Building Maintenance Assistant. The Building Maintenance Assistant performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around a 30,000 square foot office and industrial facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply preventative maintenance measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems; ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner, and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
Perform routine maintenance in and around the building
Repair broken or leaking plumbing
Maintain the building HVAC
Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Paint interior of building when old paint has become faded or chipped
Daily spot cleaning of building
Schedule maintenance with vendors
Maintain cleaning supplies and enter Purchase Order for supplies when necessary
Dust blinds and cleans windowsills
Clean front doors
Empty trash containers
Remove stains from carpet and floors
Stock employee kitchens
Clean microwaves and refrigerators
Pick up trash around the building
Change light bulbs and water filters
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a skilled building maintenance worker
Knowledge of manual and electrical tools
Must have a working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC
Strong oral and written communication skills
Able to use hand tools and power tools in order to make minor building repairs
Attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding
