Position Overview At Exact Sciences, our mission is to eradicate cancer through prevention, early detection, and guiding personalized treatment. The Associate Director of Software Engineering will drive the strategy, architecture, and delivery of our next-generation laboratory information systems (LIS). This role demands a proven leader who can blend deep technical and clinical lab domain expertise with a people-first leadership style, fostering an empowered, product-driven engineering culture. You will partner closely with Product, Scientific, and other IT specializations to deliver secure, scalable, and flexible solutions that provide measurable business and patient value. Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following: Raise capabilities in the engineering team; including, but not limited to, developing coding, testing, and deployment protocols and best practices. Maintain strong relationships and transparency with key stakeholders (Lab, Sales, Support, Customers, and Affiliates). Partner with business and technology teams to prioritize roadmaps, requirements, balance business need with capacity, and technology constraints. Influence senior engineering and business leaders to drive increased capability though engineering processes and technologies. Work with business stakeholders and engineering teams to design innovative solutions to complex challenges faced by the Company. Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance. Communicategoals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them. Motivateandinspireemployees to do their best work through coaching.
