Product Manager Locks

Job Scope:

The Product Manager Locks is responsible for driving the success of the Product Portfolios and Roadmap with focus on the individually assigned categories like folding locks for the brands AXA, Trelock and Kryptonite, through new Product Development Projects within the bicycle Lock category.

In this role, you'll work at the intersection of engineering, marketing, and sales to deliver profitable, innovative products to the global bicycle and e-bike market. A core element of this position is project management – driving product development projects from concept to market launch.

As the product owner you are responsible for the product from the first draft with the pencil till the phase out at the very end of the product life cycle. You are the ambassador of your assigned portfolio towards internal and external stakeholders and be able with technical expertise to determine business potential and drive new project initiatives.

This role requires preferably some technical know how which you can combine with a business driven and commercial approach. You work closely with different departments and people in different countries to optimize the product portfolio, and maximize revenue and margins in your categories.

This role requires up to 25% of national and international traveling.

* * Key Responsibilities **

• Manageyourassignedproduct portfolio, ensuring profitability and growth across all three brands (AXA Bike, Trelock, Kryptonite)

• Lead and manage product development projects frominitialconcept through to market launch, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-spec delivery

• Create andmaintainproject plans, including timelines, milestones

• Analyze market trends, competitors, andcustomerneedstoidentifyopportunities and inform product strategy

• Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering,suppliers,manufacturing, marketing, sales) to ensure alignment and smooth project execution

• Develop and execute product strategy, planning, and positioning for assigned product lines across all markets and regions

• Own product lifecycle management from concept through end-of-life, including roadmap planning and phase-out strategies

• Define product requirements and specifications in collaboration with engineering team

• Support design development and ensure products meet quality, cost, and performance targets

• Prepare and execute product launches, including go-to-market planning, salesand customertraining, and marketing support

• Monitor product performance (sales, margin, customer feedback) and recommend improvement

• At leastBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering , or related technical field

• Vocational/technical qualification (Techniker or Meister) with demonstrable several years' experience in product and project management.

• 1–3years of experience in productand projectmanagementrole with focuson(electro-)mechanical products

• First experience around product lifecyclemanagement and development of productportfolio strategies

• Proven project management experiencewithability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within scope

• Technical affinity with the willingness to engage deeply with product detailsalso outsideknown areas

• Knowledgearoundproduct production processes and related supply chains (stamping, coating, molding, heat treatments,etc)

• Experience in driving ideas from concept to market launch

• Structured way of working with the ability todocument usecases, requirements, and product specifications

• Very goodMS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Experience or knowledge in the bicycle/e-bike industry

• Experienceinthe development of mechanical consumer goods

• Understanding of manufacturing processes (mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronics)

• Familiarity with IoT, smart locks, or electronic locking systems

• Knowledge of international market requirements and regional product positioning

• Understanding of certification and testing standards relevant to bike locks
