Otis Technology Junior Buyer in Lyons Falls, New York

As a Junior Buyer, youll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure materials, supplies, and services are delivered on time, within specifications, and at the best possible cost. This is an excellent entry point into our Purchasing Department, offering hands on experience and professional development.

Basic Function The Junior Buyer supports internal teams by sourcing goods and services, managing vendor relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and helping maintain efficient purchasing processes that align with company standards.

Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 12 years of experience in a buying or purchasing role preferred Experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful Key Responsibilities Communicate with vendors using lean principles and just in time delivery methods to maintain supply levels Collaborate with prime vendors to support vendor relationships and vendor managed inventory Identify potential vendors and build strong partnerships based on integrity, quality, cost, and performance Partner with all departments to maintain optimal inventory levels Work with Quality Control and other teams to establish and meet standards for cost, timing, and quality Develop, maintain, and run purchasing and inventory system reports Support Buyers by gathering data, participating in meetings, taking notes, and contacting suppliers for quotes and delivery updates Assist the Materials Department as needed in alignment with department goals Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Understand and communicate the Quality Policy and how your role supports it Perform essential functions as defined by job duties Key Competencies Strong verbal and written communication Ability to maintain confidentiality Effective interpersonal skills; able to build strong internal and external relationships Customer focused, professional, composed, and adaptable Strong teamwork and cross department collaboration Attention to detail and results driven mindset High level of integrity and professionalism Ability to make decisions within defined role responsibilities Demonstrated initiative in continuous improvement Computer savvy with strong understanding of systems/IT and report generation
