Aerotek Electronics Assembler in Lynnwood, Washington

Job Title: Assembler Job Description

The Assembler position is a professional role in a manufacturing environment, requiring extensive knowledge and skill in assembly work. The role involves performing assembly processes in accordance with military and other applicable standards using visual aids and instructions. The Assembler operates with minimal supervision and communicates with various levels of the Value Stream, performing both visual and dimensional inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned assembly tasks with precision.

  • Prepare components for assembly, including cleaning and inspecting components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.

  • Test finished assemblies to ensure functionality.

  • Set up and operate equipment and machinery as required.

  • Observe and adhere to health and safety procedures, especially when handling hazardous chemicals.

  • Train and mentor new employees and team members on new processes and procedures.

  • Prioritize daily tasks according to the Master Schedule Report for the assigned cell(s).

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, the Quality group, and leadership to address and solve quality issues.

  • Create work orders and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issues, and conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs).

  • Proactively identify safety concerns and work with the Engineering group to implement solutions.

  • Participate in cleaning the area and machinery, and engage in team meetings for improvement.

  • Visually inspect completed work against drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Cross-train to work on at least 5 different products.

  • Complete job-related training courses offered by the company.

  • Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPIs, Standard Work, and Problem Solving.

  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.

  • Understand and participate in internal and external audits.

  • Perform inventory checks and repair/rework defective or returned assemblies.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • IPC J-STD fine soldering certification or equivalent documented soldering experience.

  • Strong reading comprehension skills, including the ability to interpret production prints, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.

  • Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception.

  • Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and fine manipulation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.

  • Proficient computer skills and comfort with standard software.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 10 years of complete work history, ideally with no more than 1–2 short-term roles in the last 10 years unless exceptions are valid.

  • Experience in a highly regulated aerospace environment with clean room areas.

Work Environment

This role operates within a highly regulated aerospace environment, including clean room areas. The work schedule offers two shifts: Monday–Friday from 2:30pm–11:00pm and Monday–Friday from 5:00am–1:30pm. Adherence to safety standards and procedures is paramount, ensuring a secure and efficient work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53269.00 - $60756.00/yr.
