Actalent CWI Inspector in Lynnwood, Washington

Our client in the Seattle, WA location is currently hiring for a Construction Inspector (CWI Inspector). This position is an onsite opportunity supporting commercial construction projects throughout the Tacoma, Seattle, and Bellevue areas. This role is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity and offers long‑term career growth through continued certification and professional development.

Pay – $32.00 – $35.00 per hour (depending on experience and certifications)

Location – Seattle, WA (Onsite – Tacoma / Seattle / Bellevue projects)

Schedule – Standard Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections on commercial construction projects to monitor quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications

  • Conduct visual and physical inspections and perform field testing of materials including structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, fireproofing, and related systems

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to accurately plan and execute inspection activities

  • Perform testing, observation, and inspection in accordance with training and established procedures to verify work meets contract requirements

  • Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports documenting observations, test results, and nonconformance items

  • Perform basic analysis and validation of inspection and test data prior to submission

  • Communicate findings, test results, and inspection issues to the Project Manager and designated personnel

  • Interact with clients and site personnel to support resolution of inspection findings

  • Assist Project Managers with scope development for inspection and testing services when requested

  • Coordinate pre‑dispatch activities to support efficient scheduling and project coverage

  • Maintain inspection and testing equipment, ensuring proper operation and calibration

  • Support more experienced inspectors on large or complex projects

  • Follow all project‑specific safety requirements and perform pre‑task planning

  • Report safety concerns promptly and assist with risk mitigation

  • Maintain high quality standards across all assigned projects

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with structural steel bolting and structural steel welding inspection

  • Demonstrated experience with construction inspection including structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and related systems

  • ACI Certification (Required)

  • Ability to perform field testing using standard inspection equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong written documentation and reporting skills

  • Effective verbal communication skills

  • Experience with ICC‑related inspection areas including proprietary anchors, post‑tensioning, and structural wood

  • Familiarity with nuclear density gauge and aggregate testing

  • Valid driver’s license

Disqualifiers

  • Less than 2 years of structural steel bolting and welding inspection experience

  • No ACI certification

  • Inability to perform onsite inspections on active construction projects

  • Lack of experience with commercial construction inspection

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lynnwood, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
