Robert Half Corporate Tax Staff Accountant in Lyndhurst, New Jersey
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting critical tax-related tasks during an employee's absence. The role requires strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Responsibilities:
• Handle tax-related tasks to ensure compliance and accuracy during the coverage period for an employee on leave.
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Utilize Excel to manage tax reporting processes and generate detailed reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet organizational tax deliverables and deadlines.
• Process sales tax calculations and filings in adherence to state and federal regulations.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to tax entries.
• Record and review journal entries to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
• Manage high-volume workloads with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within tax-related documentation. Requirements • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in corporate tax accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax processes.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger and journal entry procedures.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle deadlines effectively.
• Familiarity with tax compliance standards and regulations.
