Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing general facility maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or fixtures, assisting with safety-related repairs, etc. Also assists with preventative maintenance, repairs, and maintaining machinery.

Shift/Hours: 1st Shift 6:00 a.m. -4:30p.m.

Compensation:

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $24.00 to $32.00 per hour. The exact rate may depend on your skills, experience, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with machinery maintenance including installation, repairs, and rebuilding machinery.

  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

  • Completes preventive maintenance on production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.

  • Provides maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

  • Responsible for maintenance to the building or facility.

  • Maintain balance to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching when moving about on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces

  • Stoop by bending body downward and forward requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles

  • Kneel by bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s)

  • Crouch by bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine

  • Crawl by moving about on hands and knees

  • Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch

  • Talk by expressing or exchanging communication by means of the spoken work to impart oral information

  • Hear by perceiving the nature of sounds by ear

  • Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus

  • Identify and distinguish colors
