Job Summary
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) delivers millions of packages to customers every day across Amazon's Last Mile network. Supporting AMZL, the Global Fleet and Products (GFP) organization manages Fleet technology, capacity, vehicle in-life services programs, vendor management, planning and execution to support vehicle requirements to deliver parcels to customers' doorsteps. In 2025 GFP have taken additional responsibilities to look after tractors and trailers used for Middle Mile (MM) transportation handled by Amazon Transportation Services (ATS).
EU Fleet Finance is a specialized team of 7 finance professionals partnering with GFP and providing financial planning, analysis, and cost controllership for the delivery fleet across 10 European countries. Together with operations leaders and AMZL and DSP Finance organizations we optimize fleet costs, define vehicle economics, and shape Amazon's delivery model. Our work directly influences strategic decisions on preferred vehicle types, alternative mobility solutions, and DSP remuneration models.
We're seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our EU Fleet Finance team and integrate Middle Mile Fleet into our team's core responsibilities. This position into vehicle-related financials offers a unique opportunity to learn all about and improve routine processes while quickly progressing to influence tactical and strategic decisions. You'll work alongside an experienced team of tenured Finance Managers and take responsibility for critical finance activities including Weekly Business Reviews (WBR), Month-End-Close (MEC), Monthly Financial Reviews (MFR), and Amazon’s core annual planning cycles (OP1, OP2 and quarterly guidance updates).
Given our team's size and scope, you'll engage with numerous stakeholders across GFP operations teams and Finance organizations, providing subject matter expertise to (senior) leaders including directors. You'll define, track and help to improve metrics measuring vehicle operating costs, cost per package, route economics, and kilometer efficiency. The role combines European-wide perspective with country-level insights, evolving with fleet lifecycle management, new vehicle acquisitions, and innovative sourcing models.
Key job responsibilities
• Core Finance Processes: Take over, develop and execute financial reporting and planning processes for Middle Mile Fleet cost, especially on tractors and trailers; Lead execution of WBR, MEC, Monthly Financial Reviews, and planning cycles with limited oversight; ensure accuracy through proactive auditing
• Own controllership activities during Month End Close for Fleet CapEx and OpEx, starting with Middle Mile, before expanding activities into Last Mile
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Build financial models addressing complex fleet cost questions; convert data into actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership; Assess Middle Mile long-term fleet procurement decisions
• Stakeholder Partnership: Communicate vehicle financial insights clearly to Finance and business partners including directors; influence tactical and strategic fleet decisions
• Metrics Development: Define and track fleet economics metrics including cost per package, route, and kilometer; analyze vehicle operating costs across 10 European countries
• Process Improvement: Identify automation opportunities, reduce defects, and implement solutions that scale across the European fleet finance function
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience working with stakeholders
Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
Experience with financial and statistical modeling
Experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL or Tableau
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in finance, Mathematics, or Economics
Experience troubleshooting problems and offering solutions to streamline complex challenges
Experience of working in a large team or fast-paced, corporate environment
Experience of making strategic business decisions and manage internal relationships
