We are looking for a Compliance Risk Manager to join our team located in our Headquarters in Luxembourg.
The Compliance Risk Manager is responsible for designing classification processes that drive safety, inventory allocation, handling, storage, transportation and waste disposal systems logic at Amazon. The Manager strategizes with key Compliance teams and operations staff to develop best-in-class processes and systems, manages and trains staff tasked with data management, auditing, seller and vendor management, and seeks opportunities to continually improve processes across organizations where Amazon operates (e.g. North America, Europe, India, Asia, Africa and Middle East). The successful candidate will also closely work with Amazon Technology & Science Teams, Transportation, Legal, Retail, Fulfilled by Amazon, Fulfillment Centers and Amazons’ seller and vendor teams.
Key job responsibilities
Create chemical classification processes that scale by leveraging technology to keep pace with industry, Amazon's business growth and support customer experience tenets across organizations where Amazon operates by:
Ensuring the appropriate documentation (e.g. material safety data sheets) is requested to internal stakeholders (Retail and Retail Business Support, Technical Account management teams – support for sellers) and processed in compliance with Amazon's process and policies, including product set-up and approval: work with category buyers to ensure chemical products are properly set up in our internal systems and that only those products are being sourced that comply with the chemical management program;
Supporting internal stakeholders’ requests by actively working with them,
Developing and implementing scalable AI-driven classification process logic that integrates multi-source data (regulatory data sources, catalog metadata, confidence scoring frameworks, and escalation rules) to automatically classify chemical products in Amazon's global catalog and maintaining rigorous safety standards.
Implementing mandatory quality audit protocols and validation processes to ensure safety and accuracy of automated classification decisions including phased deployment of AI-driven classification capabilities starting with high-confidence product categories
Actively seek cross-regional and partner team coordination opportunities that improve processes and customer experience.
Support country operational launches
Create metrics to closely monitor the level of service delivered and identify potential gaps
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
Experience handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
Experience with SQL and Excel
Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements
