Position Description: RN – Registered Charge Nurse - Surgical unit
BayCare Health System is currently seeking a Registered Charge Nurse to join our outstanding and compassionate Medical/Surgical - Surgical unit team at St. Joseph’s Hospital - North .
The Registered Charge Nurse responsibilities include:
Proficiency in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills.
Acting as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team.
Professional accountability and development.
Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse.
Acting as a mentor and resource expert.

Qualifications:
Certifications and Licensures:
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required
RN (Registered Nurse) license is required
ACLS Certification if required by department
RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion in lieu of education. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid.
Nurse Specialty certification is preferred
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing, BS in a healthcare related field, or RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification is required within 7 months of hire/promotion
Experience:
· 2 years of RN experience is required
· 1 year of leadership experience is preferred
