Emerson Senior Mechanical Engineer in LUGAGNANO VAL D'ARDA, Italy
Are you passionate about Engineering and ready for your next challenge? Join us as a TOV Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Lugagnano Val d’Arda.
In this role, you will work on the design and development of triple‑offset (TOV) valve mechanical systems, components, and assemblies across the product lifecycle. You will operate within a matrix organization, in close coordination with System Engineering, the Product Design Manager, the Design Authority, and other engineering and business functions.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Execute product design activities, ensuring the design process and required technical reviews are followed (design, risk, manufacturability, supply chain).
Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation, and provide technical input to stakeholders.
Perform engineering calculations, simulations (FEA / CFD), and tolerance analyses to support design decisions.
Drive design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) and design‑for‑assembly (DFA) solutions.
Support prototype builds, testing, and validation to ensure performance and reliability.
Ensure compliance with applicable technical regulations and standards.
Support resolution of fleet issues and non‑conformities, implementing corrective actions and design improvements (lessons learned).
Apply structured engineering methodologies such as FMEA and root cause analysis.
Support manufacturing operations, audits, and certification activities when required.
Contribute to workshops, technical meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who You Are:
You are a tech‑savvy mechanical engineer with a strong focus on design, calculations, and technical execution. You analyze problems using data and multiple inputs before moving to solutions. You are action‑oriented, comfortable working in a changing environment, and able to take ownership of complex engineering tasks. You collaborate effectively with others and adapt quickly when priorities shift.
For This Role, You Will Need:
A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design and product development/testing within an industrial environment.
Strong background in mechanical design, structural analysis, and design‑for‑manufacturing.
Solid experience with FEA / CFD tools (e.g. Ansys Structural / Thermal / CFX).
Proficiency with PTC Creo and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and mechanical drawings.
Experience applying DFM, FMEA, DoE, SPC, RCA, and risk analysis methods.
Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary teams within a matrix organization.
Fluency in Italian and English; French is a plus.
EU passport and availability to travel internationally when required.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Experience in industrial valves, preferably triple‑offset valves.
Experience with laboratory testing, verification, and validation.
Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to metallic and non‑metallic valves.
Exposure to systems engineering frameworks (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE).
Experience with Six Sigma / DFSS or similar quality methodologies.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
