Are you passionate about engineering and ready for your next challenge? Join us as a CBL Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Lugagnano Val d’Arda.

In this role, you will lead the design and development of C‑Ball valve mechanical systems, components, and assemblies across the full product lifecycle, with a strong focus on New Product Development (NPD). You will work in close coordination with System Engineering, Product Design, and Design Authority, within a global matrix organization and in collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines and business functions.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

· Lead mechanical design activities for C‑Ball valves from concept through detailed design, validation, and industrialization.

· Execute New Product Development and redesign activities, ensuring compliance with internal development processes and required technical reviews.

· Develop 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation, and communicate technical content to stakeholders.

· Perform engineering calculations and simulations (FEA / CFD) to support design decisions and product performance.

· Drive design‑for‑manufacturing and design‑for‑assembly solutions in collaboration with Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

· Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and resolution of technical issues and non‑conformities.

· Apply engineering methodologies such as FMEA and root cause analysis to drive design improvements and lessons learned.

· Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including System Engineering, Program Management, Product Leadership, and other Engineering disciplines.

· Support manufacturing, audits, and selected customer or certification activities as required.

· Contribute to innovation initiatives and continuous improvement across the C‑Ball product portfolio.

Who You Are:

You are a tech‑savvy mechanical engineer who applies strong engineering judgment and continuously develops your technical skills and knowledge. You actively drive innovation, challenge existing solutions, and contribute to the evolution and improvement of products and design approaches. You are action‑oriented, take ownership of complex challenges, and deliver results in a business‑critical environment. You collaborate effectively within cross‑functional teams and adapt quickly to changing technical and business priorities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design and new product development within an industrial environment (IC4 / experienced individual contributor).

  • Strong capability in mechanical design, calculations, and 3D modeling, with hands‑on experience using Ansys (FEA and/or CFD) or similar simulation tools.

  • Solid background in structural analysis and design‑for‑manufacturing, ideally in regulated or industrial engineering contexts.

  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as PTC Creo and AutoCAD, including creation of 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Experience working in mechanical design teams, within a cross‑functional, matrix organization, collaborating with System Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management.

  • Background in the valves industry is strongly preferred; experience with ball valves is a significant advantage.

  • Fluency in Italian and English is mandatory; French is a strong plus.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a critical role, taking ownership of design activities under business pressure.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience with C‑Ball or similar industrial valve products across the full product lifecycle.

  • Hands‑on experience with laboratory testing, verification, and validation activities.

  • Knowledge of international standards and codes applicable to metallic and non‑metallic valves (e.g. ISO, API, ASME).

  • Exposure to systems engineering frameworks and structured product development approaches (e.g. ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE).

  • Experience with advanced engineering or quality methodologies such as FMEA, DFSS, Six Sigma, or DoE.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and translate it into robust engineering solutions.
