Product Manager, Core Data Platform Services
About the Role:
Own delivery and evolution of foundational data services that support multiple products and teams across a large enterprise platform. This role operates with senior-level autonomy and execution responsibility, while remaining hands-on in day-to-day product management.
The focus is platform rigor, data correctness, and dependency management, not feature delivery or UI workflows.
What You Will Own:
One or more core data services with multiple internal consumers
Backlog, roadmap, and delivery commitments for your services
Cross-team dependencies, risks, and decisions
Clear service contracts and durable platform patterns
Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Execution
Own and prioritize the backlog based on platform value and consumer impact
Write clear, unambiguous requirements for APIs and data services
Drive delivery with engineering partners from discovery through launch
Platform & Data Leadership
Partner with engineering on data models, schemas, and service boundaries
Lead decisions on versioning, effective dating, and lifecycle management
Ensure consistency across services while supporting valid consumer variation
Dependency & Stakeholder Management
Actively manage dependencies across multiple teams and services
Identify risks early and drive alignment without escalation
Communicate status, tradeoffs, and impacts clearly to leadership
Documentation & Clarity
Maintain high-quality documentation in Confluence
Capture decisions, rationale, and open questions
Enable downstream teams to self-serve with minimal hand-holding

Dependencies do not surprise leadership
Platform decisions hold up over time
You operate independently with strong judgment
Basic Qualifications:
4–7 years product management experience
Ownership of platform, data, or shared services products
Experience delivering APIs or data contracts used by multiple teams
Proven ability to manage cross-team dependencies end to end
Strong written communication and documentation discipline
Comfort making tradeoffs in ambiguous, horizontal problem spaces
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HR, HCM, or workforce platforms
Familiarity with effective dating, versioned data, or temporal models
SQL or hands-on data experience
Prior work on global or multi-tenant platforms
Experience working with external integrations or public APIs
Platform-first mindset over feature-first thinking
Strong ownership and follow-through
Comfortable operating without heavy process
Bias toward clarity, alignment, and delivery

The pay range for this position is $102,300.00 to $147,050.00. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
