Full-Time Community Crisis Stabilization (CSS) Clinician

Contract Position | 13 Weeks to Start

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is proud to partner with a respected behavioral health provider in the Lowell, MA area that is seeking a full-time, Master’s-level Unlicensed Social Worker or Counselor to join their Community Crisis Stabilization (CSS) team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a clinician passionate about crisis intervention and community-based behavioral health services.

Position Overview

As a Community Crisis Stabilization (CSS) Clinician , you will provide comprehensive emergency mental health and substance use disorder services to individuals and families experiencing acute crises. Services are delivered primarily at the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) site , with some community-based interventions as needed. You will play a key role in timely crisis response, trauma-informed care, and coordination of services to ensure appropriate level of care and continuity.

Schedule

  • Day Shift Preferred: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Hours: 40 hours per week

Start Date: Two weeks from offer

Length: 13 weeks to start (potential for extension)

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond timely to requests for crisis assessment and intervention

  • Provide on-site crisis evaluations at the CBHC

  • Deliver short-term crisis counseling and follow-up services

  • Conduct crisis case management and care coordination

  • Collaborate with CBHC programs to ensure continuity of care and appropriate placement

  • Maintain documented linkages with community-based services and resources

  • Provide clients and families with service recommendations and support accessing care

  • Promote a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and safe environment

  • Travel within the community as needed ( mileage reimbursed ; coverage within 15 miles of Lowell )

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field (required)

  • Unlicensed clinicians eligible to practice at the Master’s level

  • Experience in crisis intervention, emergency mental health, or community-based services preferred

  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and care coordination skills

  • Ability to work independently in high-acuity situations
