Athena Health Care Systems Accounts Receivable Assistant in Lowell, Massachusetts

Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our dynamic care team! As an AR Assistant, you will assist in the day-to-day accounting function of the facility, providing exceptional support to our finance team. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive weekly pay range of $23 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.

Northwood is a 123-bed skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties, including the Director of Finance

  • Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, and more

  • Secure all cash and valuables on hand, per policy

  • Back-up for the Payroll position

  • Complete Medicaid redeterminations when applicable

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Financial Services

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required

  • Six (6) months of experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice; health care accounting experience preferred but not required

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Must be able to type 45 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator
