Job Title: Mig Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mig Welder to join our 2nd shift team. This role involves welding on mild steel in various positions, including flat, vertical down, and overhead. Familiarity with tank welding and pressure vessel welding is essential. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up welding equipment and executing precise measurements, cuts, bends, and frame assemblies. Additionally, you will use hand and power tools to grind and polish welds, ensuring quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
Perform welding on mild steel ranging from 12g to 1 inch in various positions.
Set up welding equipment and prepare jobs for welding tasks.
Measure, cut, bend, and build frames using appropriate tools.
Use hand and power tools, including tape measures and other measuring tools, to ensure precision.
Grind and polish welds to achieve desired finish.
Work with Miller welders for welding tasks.
Essential Skills
5 years of MIG welding experience on mild steel.
Familiarity with flux core welding and structural steel.
Ability to perform fitting and assembly tasks.
Competency in reading blueprints and using a tape measure with at least 3 years of experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in fabrication and welding in non-production environments.
Ability to work independently and set up welding tasks without supervision.

Work Environment
Work the 2nd shift from 4:30 pm to 3 am, Monday to Thursday, with some Fridays as needed. The job requires wearing steel-toed shoes, eye, and hearing protection. Be part of an 80-person shop located in the vibrant Iron Works district, with plans to expand to over 100 employees in a new facility by summer 2025. Pay is between $23-$28hr.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
4-10 schedule - try to not work OT but currently working some OT Growing company - they build parts for Data centers, which that industry is taking off In the Iron works district - connected to a golf simulator and bar. Their other facility is Brand new facility with tons of space, great lighting, new machinery and high ceilings. They plan to move everything to the new building sometime over the summer of 2025 80 person shop with a lot of growth discussions to get over 100 employees Welding Manager started as a welder and they moved him into a leadership role. A lot of growth opps at MTL Laid back environment Extremely competitive pay for the market Direct Hire $1 for 2nd shift Annual raises: Don't do a lot of annual raises, they would bump people up throughout the year Benefits and insurances: $500 deductible for medical - company pays 65%, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k Vacation: 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2, can get an extra week per year based on attendance Company outings: Christmas part offsite, full dinner, open bar, door prizes, lunches every 6 weeks.
