Job Description: Metal Processing Associate

Metal Processing Associates build, cast, pour, and melt metal alloys in our foundry, operating heat treat equipment safely in a fast-paced environment. At Level 1, You will:
Adhere to Fisher Barton and ISO-9001 Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics
Producing product by following work instructions, blueprints, engineering plans, materials specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Skim slag from surface of molten metal, using ladle
Use hand tools (grinders, mallets, etc.) to clean ladles
Use various measurement instruments for the Hot Metal Process
Assemble Dies using wrench, bolts, and tap screws
Set up dies and hubs, cleaning and prepping as necessary
Move materials in the work area by crane, forklift, or cart
Remove, clean, and store dies when job is completed
Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the work area
At Level 2, You will also:
Build appropriate alloys per specifications
Spray binder on surface of molds and dry surface with blowtorch
Load dies & hubs into appropriate oven
At Level 3, You will also:
Pour molten metal into molds per process sheets
Troubleshoot issues in the Metal Processing Department as needed
Cross-train Metal Processing Associate 1 and 2 team members
At Level 4, You will also:
Perform the metal melting process
Operate a spectrometer to ensure metal chemistries are correct

Required at Level 1:

Adept with basic mathematics
Required at Level 2:
[]{#_Hlk118448525}1 Year of Previous Metal Processing experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Metal Processing Associate 1
Are proficient in all Metal Processing Associate 2 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
Able to read, write, and communicate English effectively
Able to work safely in a hot environment.
Able to work extended hours when needed.
Forklift experience
Required at Level 3:

Are proficient in all Metal Processing Associate 3 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
Able to read, write, and communicate English effectively
Ability to work safely in a hot environment.
Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
Previous forklift experience
Required at Level 4:
3 Years of pevious Metal Processing experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Metal Processing Associate 3
Are proficient in all Metal Processing Associate 4 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
Able to work safely in a hot environment.
2 or more years of Forklift experience
Able to work extended
