Job Description
The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in coordinating daily shipping and receiving operations on the day shift in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to use computer systems to manage inventory and shipping documentation. You will work closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure orders are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with applicable shipping procedures.
Responsibilities
Handle daily shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing orders.
Verify shipment details and documentation to maintain accuracy in shipping records and inventory data.
Use computer systems, including Excel and email, to create, update, and manage shipping documentation and correspondence.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal teams and external clients, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries.
Communicate effectively with team members and customers, including in a bilingual capacity when needed.
Operate warehouse equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move, load, and unload materials safely, as required.
Maintain an organized and clean workspace to support efficient workflow and accurate order processing.
Ensure compliance with shipping procedures, safety practices, and applicable regulations at all times.
Coordinate with other team members to resolve issues related to shipments, inventory discrepancies, or documentation errors.
Support additional administrative or operational tasks as needed to assist overall warehouse and logistics operations.
Essential Skills
Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving role.
Proficiency using computers for daily tasks, including working with Excel and email for documentation and communication.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate in a bilingual capacity as needed.
Experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts or willingness to learn and safely operate this equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling orders and shipping documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
SAP experience for inventory and shipping processes (preferred but not required).
Familiarity with inventory control practices and basic warehouse procedures.
Ability to follow established shipping regulations and internal policies.
Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in a logistics or warehouse setting.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse and logistics setting with a strong focus on shipping and receiving operations. The schedule follows a Monday through Friday structure, with a 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and a 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent use of computers, Excel, and email, as well as interaction with inventory systems. The role may involve operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts and handling physical materials, while maintaining an organized and safe workspace in accordance with established procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loves Park, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
