A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our Senior Principal Geologist position is located in our Arvada, CO office with hybrid options.
As a member of the Montrose Environmental Solutions team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Provide technical support for a wide range of geologic/hydrogeology projects including regional and local hydrogeologic assessments, contaminated site assessments, regulatory groundwater monitoring programs, and conceptual site model development.
Work with project teams to conceptualize, build, calibrate, and execute a variety of groundwater flow models using industry accepted software (Groundwater VISTAS, FEFLOW, Visual MODFLOW, GMS)
Support the development and execution of conceptual site model (CSM)-driven work plans that balance the application of innovative modeling tools or approaches, with the scale and scope of the problem
Oversee surface/subsurface investigations, soil borings, monitoring well installation, and sampling (soil, groundwater, vapor).
Prepare a variety of technical reports including analyzing, interpreting geologic/ hydrogeologic data, and prepare technical work plans, reports, and/or feasibility studies
Liaise with clients and stakeholders
Apply your skills in quantitative hydrogeology, geospatial analysis, and data visualization to accelerate project progress and activate key decisions.
Develop and implement remediation action plans (e.g., in-situ treatment, excavation) to restore contaminated sites.
Maintains a target billable utilization of 45%.
Acts as a key seller-doer, leading business development efforts and driving revenue growth within the industrial, commercial, and aerospace industries.
Ensure projects meet local, state, and federal regulations
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, or a related field (Master's preferred).
15+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, with demonstrated leadership on complex projects.
Deep expertise in site investigation, remediation, and regulatory frameworks.
Proven track record of client relationship management and business development success.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
