Humana Senior Network Administrator in Louisville, Kentucky

The Senior Network Administrator provides technical expertise in the management of a public and/or private network; tests and analyzes network facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers. The Senior Network Administrator work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Network Administrator monitors data traffic and network resource performance. Identifies, diagnoses and resolves technical problems related to network failure/integrity. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with Level 2 support teams to gain expertise in tools and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance Level 1 support capabilities.

  • Conduct Level 1 health checks during system issues and outages, ensuring prompt detection and escalation of critical incidents.

  • Review and approve changes impacting production environments, ensuring compliance with operational standards and minimal disruption.

  • Drive Level 1 support engagement in Problem Management activities to facilitate root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

  • Support critical monitoring services to improve observability for faster TTD and TTR.

  • Facilitate updates to L1 technical documentation and SOPs to ensure up-to-date information to support ongoing operations and future planning.

  • Participate in implementation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust support solutions.

  • Review and approve changes within Level 1 and Level 1.5 operational spaces.

  • Contribute to strategic operations, business development, and the formulation of operational strategy.

  • Identify opportunities with emerging technologies to drive digital transformation and operational excellence.

  • Monitor and measure performance metrics, reporting results to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Execute change initiatives and manage the implementation of new processes and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 or more years experience in Network Administration

  • Experience providing technical expertise in the management of a public and/or private network

  • Experienced testing and analyzes network facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a Technical Field

  • Networking related Certification

Additional Information

This role has a hybrid remote workstyle which may require you to work approximately 2 days a week in the office depending on business needs

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$89,000 - $121,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
