Job Title: Production Team Lead
We are seeking a dynamic Production Team Lead to take charge of our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will provide floor-based production leadership, ensuring the smooth execution of daily schedules and maintaining high production output. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and improving throughput, labor efficiency, and quality.
Responsibilities
Lead floor-based production and maintain a visible leadership presence.
Own daily schedule execution and production output.
Monitor throughput, downtime, labor efficiency, and quality.
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Make real-time production decisions and escalate appropriately when needed.
Take responsibility for outcomes and learn from mistakes.
Build credibility through action and follow-through.
Identify inefficiencies in material flow, changeovers, staging, and labor allocation.
Implement structured improvements to drive measurable gains in output, cost, and reliability.
Build sustainable systems, not just temporary fixes.
Lead and coach production leads and hourly workforce.
Set clear expectations around urgency and accountability.
Develop bench strength and cross-training depth.
Essential Skills
Experience in production management and supervision.
Background in industrial/manufacturing engineering.
Experience in manufacturing environments and managing workers.
Skills in process improvement, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
2+ years experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in packaging, blending, chemical, food, or CPG manufacturing is a plus.
Exposure to GMP or regulated environments is advantageous.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities are beneficial.
Lean / Continuous Improvement exposure is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or management from an accredited college is required.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership position in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. The role requires spending 85% of the time on the production floor, driving output, improving processes, leading teams, and making real-time decisions. Work hours are Monday-Thursday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with Fridays off if work is completed. The position offers autonomy for improvements with no micromanaging and is intended to develop into a Plant Manager role. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $49.00/hr.
