The HR Generalist (P2) serves as the primary Human Resources partner for hourly employees and front-line leaders within an assigned manufacturing operation, with a strong focus on 2nd and 3rd shift support. This role is the go-to HR resource during off-shifts, providing timely guidance, resolving employee relations matters, and ensuring consistent application of policies and practices. The position plays a critical role in fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performing work environment through effective coaching, thorough investigations, and strong partnership with operations leadership

How You'll Create Possibilities
Job Description
Lead employee relations efforts by advising and coaching employees and leaders on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
Serve as the primary HR contact for 2nd/3rd shifts, providing visible, responsive, and solutions-oriented support.
Investigate workplace issues, including complaints of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other violations of Company policy
Exhibit sound judgment in recommending outcomes for investigations
Provide coaching to leaders on performance management, corrective action, and employee development.
Ensure consistent application and interpretation of company policies, practices, and legal requirements.
Foster an effective, inclusive work environment/culture and relationships, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values
Manage HR transactional and day-to-day employee support needs for assigned client group.
Respond to HR inquiries, exercising judgment in issue resolution and escalation.
Partner with Plant Leadership to support operational goals, workforce needs, and engagement initiatives.
Collaborate with Health Services, EHS, and other partners to promote a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace.
Support and lead HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with site and business priorities.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Act as an employee advocate while balancing business needs and risk mitigation
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Position Requirements
minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources
Demonstrated experience conducting employee relations investigations and managing sensitive issues.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently during off-shifts and manage competing priorities
Flexibility to work on 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and occasional weekends as needed
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent experience)
3 years of HR experience within a union environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or manufacturing support environment
High level of customer focus with an exceptional track record in meeting customer needs
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with an excellent work ethic and a proven “can-do” attitude
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment
Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not be limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
