SummaryJob Description:Charge Nurse (CN), Inpatient Operating Room (IPOR)24 Hours Weekly, Part Time, Split-Shift (10:45a - 11:00p - Mon/Tues and Thur/Friday per pay period)Employment Bonus Eligible for Qualified CandidatesBaptist Health Louisville is seeking a dedicated and motivated Charge Nurse (CN) to join our team in the Inpatient Operating Room (IPOR) on the 2nd floor of the Main Hospital. This entry-level management position is responsible for coordinating patient care during designated shifts and providing leadership to the surgical team. As a Registered Nurse (RN), the CN applies the nursing process to patients of all ages-from infancy to geriatrics-within the scope of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act. The CN plays a vital role in promoting positive surgical outcomes, supporting quality improvement, and participating in both unit-based and hospital-wide shared governance councils.The newly expanded and renovated IPOR features 27 state-of-the-art operating suites, including three dedicated to open heart surgery. The unit offers a full range of surgical services excluding organ transplants. Surgical specialties include general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, interventional radiology, robotics, vascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, and cardiac surgery. Previous and/or Current surgical experience is required. 6 Month RN Experience Required. BCLS is or will be required within 90 days of hire.The Charge Nurse adheres to National Professional Nursing Standards, utilizing critical thinking and sound clinical judgment in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
